Chattanooga residents turn to food pantries as nutrition assistance lapses | Chattanooga Times Free Press

On the 14th of each month, retired warehouse worker and housekeeper Carla Sims receives a $273 deposit from the federal government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The benefits, sent to her electronic benefits card, help defray some of the costs of food.
